The Teaching Garden on Governors Island

The GrowNYC Teaching Garden, located on Governors Island, is a one-acre urban farm that strives to engage, excite, and educate visitors on all aspects of urban farming. The Teaching Garden welcomes NYC schools for field trips, where students learn about urban farming through hands-on garden programming. To register for a field trip, please see the information below. 

The Teaching Garden is open to the public on weekends between May 4th and October 27th from 12 pm to 4 pm. For more information on weekend programming and offerings, visit our Public Programs page.
