Cosmo flowers are blooming in the Teaching Garden and this week we donated just under 400 pounds of produce to Chili's on Wheels!
Our donation this week included....
40 pounds of Collard greens, 18 pounds of Kale, 84 pounds of Cabbage,
31 pounds of Tomatillos, 10 pounds of sweet and hot peppers,
6 pounds of green beans, half a pound of mint (which is a lot more than it sounds like), 28 pounds of Eggplant, 28 pounds of Radishes, 20 pounds of Tomatoes, 20 pounds of Beets,
and a whopping 105 pounds of Lettuce!
There are only 2 weekends left to visit Governors Island before it closes for the season, make sure to drop by the Teaching Garden from 12-4 on Saturdays and Sundays to see whats growing!
